Lupita Nyongo’o walked away with the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Female Supporting Actor for  her role as Patsey in 12 Years A Slave, Saturday, January 18, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.  Looking beautiful, dressed to the nines in a form fitting teal dress by Gucci, Nyong’o gave a heart warming acceptance speech.  12 Years received four nominations but only won one, that was Nyong’o’s win.

American Hustle, the con man,1970’s era comedy, was also a bigger winner. It won a SAG Award for Best Ensemble. Other winners include, Matthew McConaughey  – “Dallas Buyer’s Club” and the cast of “Breaking Bad.”

The much talked about, “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” walk away empty-handed from the SAG Awards. The Oscars are coming March 2. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens there when American Hustle and 12 Years A Slave  go head to head for the Best Picture statue.
