Girls Trip Arrives In Theaters

The Universal comedy has an all-star female cast that has a great chemistry, with Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Kate Walsh and Jada Pinkett Smith. It also features some good-looking men, Larenz Tate, Kofi Siriboe and Mike Colbert.

The story centers on a trip four life-long friends take the Essence Festival in New Orleans. As the women re-kindle their friendships, they find themselves going overload with fun, drinking, dancing, brawling and romancing in the Big Easy. Tiffany Haddish is a scene stealer in the flick and will make you laugh yourself to tears.

Girls Trip was produced by Will Packer (Ride Along, Think Like a Man franchises, Almost Christmas) and directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man franchise, Barbershop: The Next Cut). Kenya Barris (creator of ABC’s Black-ish) and Tracy Oliver wrote the screenplay. Girls Trip was executive produced by Preston Holmes and James Lopez.

Although Girls Trip is rated “R,” mostly for language, the movie makes a perfect movie for ladies to go in groups to see. It also makes good first date movie. Go see it, but careful you might laugh until your sides hurt.

Woods is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Fisk University-Nashville, TN. She earned a Master of Arts in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University.
